The creatures came out early for HaVoK's Blood Dance Vampire Ball as we were surprised by quite a turnout upon our own relatively early arrival. The gloomy and damp weather outside did not seem to deter at all but only made more of a suitable backdrop for our dark hideout of celebration and thrall. Merchants and artists displayed their wares, everything from clothing to tattoos to decorative contact lenses. Some of the vendors included Magick Cauldron, SFX Eye Color, Azrael's Accomplice and Anita Star. We encourage any and all to explore and patronize these fine purveyors.

Amidst the flash and dark of the moving bodies and pounding beats, we found ourselves treated to a tour of an expanded bar area in the rear of the club. We can only hope that things continue to improve as the darkness enlarges its hold to social rendezvous and libations via the way of HaVoK. It seemed the bartenders, Kip and Jennifer, and our DJ's Whisperwish, Austin, and Hellion were tireless in their efforts to appease the ravenous crowd. The dance floor never appeared to have a break throughout the evening as the denizens moved on and off the aerie in their invocations. The bar itself seemed almost held up by the shadowy clientele such was their constant presence.

We saw many familiar faces, but as seems the case with HaVoK, several new people emerged to grace the playscape. It is always nice to see new vitality injected into the scene, and the Blood Dance veritably ruptured forth with such energies. By the end of the evening, a sizable crowd still lingered, unwilling to depart and realize the eventual rising of the sun. But we had shown this night its honor, and we slipped away to rest and regain and start it all over again.
